FAQs
What can I expect from the first session?
What if I am in crisis in between sessions?
Your first session is a comprehensive intake. We'll explore what brought you in, your history, your goals, and what you hope therapy will look like. It typically runs about 50 minutes. Come as you are. There are no wrong answers.
Do I have to talk about my trauma right away?
Absolutely not. We build safety first — always. Trauma-informed care means we never move faster than you're ready to go. You are always in the driver's seat.
How does the free 10-minute consultation work?
Do you offer couples counseling?
What is your self-pay rate?
It's a brief introductory call where you can ask questions, get a feel for my approach, and we can both determine whether we're a good fit. No commitment. No pressure. Just a conversation.
How does telehealth work?
Do you take insurance?
How long will I be in therapy?
What if I’ve had bad experiences with therapy before?
We meet over a secure, HIPAA-compliant telehealth platform. I'll send you a link before each session. All you need is a quiet, private space and a reliable internet connection.
No. Felt Counseling LLC provides individual therapy only.
Yes. Felt Counseling is in-network with select insurance providers. Please visit the Fees page and click the link to my Headway account to see the most up to date fee structures and verify your insurance.
Self-pay clients are seen at a standard per-session rate ($150 per session). A Good Faith Estimate will be provided prior to beginning services. Please visit the Fees page and click the link to my Headway account to see the most up to date fee structure and verify billing information.
That depends entirely on you and your goals. Some clients find what they need in a few months. Other's prefer ongoing support. We’'ll check in on your progress regularly and adjust together.
Tell me. Past therapy experiences — good and bad — are important context. My goal is to build something that actually works for you. Therapy should feel like a collaboration, not a lecture.
If you are in crisis between sessions please do not wait for your next appointment. Contact one of the resources listed on the Crisis & Safety page (linked on the footer of every page of this website under ‘Questions?’) or call 911. I am not available for between-session crisis support — those resources exist specifically for that moment and are available 24/7.
